How do you grow pumpkin seeds?

Pumpkin cultivation requires a bit of planning, but it's a fairly straightforward process even for beginners. Sow the seeds indoors early in the spring, then move them outside once the risk of frost has passed.

Once planted outdoors, pumpkin plants need plenty of space – each plant can spread several metres! They thrive in full sun and well-drained, nutrient-rich soil. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, and enrich the soil with compost for the best results.
