We have created a collection together with the Carl Larsson House with flower and vegetable seeds that have been grown at Lilla Hyttnäs in Sundborn since 1888. Carl's paintings have inspired garden enthusiasts, including us, for over a hundred years with their images of the Swedish garden idyll.

The collection consists of two boxes with specially designed seed bags of typical varieties Karin grew in the garden at Lilla Hyttnäs. When choosing the contents of the seed collection, we went through paintings and stories from Lilla Hyttnäs to find connections and more easily imagine what the cultivation probably looked like at the Larsson family home.

Sunflower - White Sun F1

A new and completely unique sunflower variety with beautiful white petals and a yellow center. A fabulous sunflower that really stands out and distinguishes itself so much that it is already counted as the favorite of the summer. This variety becomes a magical eye-catcher in flower beds and plantings or in larger pots. It has stately and robust stems that are excellent for cutting, and with its enchanting appearance, it becomes the ultimate bouquet flower. This lovely variety of cosmos is truly special. With its beautiful colors ranging from apricot, caramel, vanilla, to rose, Apricotta has captured our hearts here at Florea. Its sweet petals shimmer beautifully in the sun and create a stunning focal point wherever it is planted. The attractive foliage is green and has a feathery appearance. This variety is easy to grow, reliable, and resilient, making it a favorite among gardeners. It is perfect for planting directly in the ground or in containers and other types of planters.
The best thing about cosmos is that you can harvest as many flowers as you want. When you cut the flowers, the plant will produce new shoots, resulting in even more flowers than before. In other words, Apricotta is a dream for those who enjoy making their own summer bouquets.

Baby Blue is a charming eucalyptus variety with small, dense leaves in a soft blue-green shade that shimmers slightly in silver. Unlike varieties such as cinerea and silver dollar, baby blue has much smaller leaves and is therefore easier to place in bouquets. The variety can also be dried and looks very beautiful in eternity bouquets or other types of flower arrangements. This is a big favorite of Hanna Wendelbo who always grows baby blue at home. A clear bouquet favorite that produces plenty of beautiful eucalyptus branches that she uses extensively in all types of flower arrangements. With her we also find very large specimens as she always overwinters her plants frost-free and we are always equally impressed every time we visit her!

Yarrow Summer Pastel is a stunning perennial in the most beautiful mix of pastels in apricot, purple, pink and white. Known for its incredible vase life and long flowering. Let us introduce our latest addition to the rose campion family, Apricot Lemonade. A unique and enchanting rose campion variety in a soft apricot shade. The beautiful petals are paper-thin and in the center, the flowers have a stunning pinkish-lilac ring around the yellow center of the bloom. The backside of the petals has a beautiful lavender shade that gives the flowers a romantic and lively expression.

Eucalyptus - Cinerea

It&#8217;s not particularly difficult to fall in love with eucalyptus cinerea. The beautiful, slightly silver-tinted foliage and the unique scent of menthol are just two of the many reasons why this variety is so incredibly popular. A popular interior detail in many homes and a true classic in bouquets. It lasts a long time in a vase and is just as beautiful freshly picked as it is dried.
A grateful variety that eventually becomes a tree if it is allowed to overwinter under the right conditions. A favorite of our wonderful ambassador Hanna Wendelbo, who has been growing this wonderful variety for many years.

Zinnia - Queeny Lime Red

This magical zinnia variety leaves no one indifferent. With its enchanting and diverse appearance, Queeny Lime Red is the jewel in your cut flower garden. It has infinite beautiful color combinations in lime, light purple, and pinkish tones. Each flower of this variety is therefore unique, and that is precisely why Queeny Lime Red has become so incredibly popular as a cut flower. Nasturtium - Milkmaid

A enchanting and renowned nasturtium with fantastic, yellow cream-colored flowers. A very popular variety that is perfect for trellises, balcony boxes, or hanging in planters. It spruces up the entrance, patio, or balcony and creates a summery oasis of floral magic.
The flowers of the nasturtium are edible and enchanting as a garnish in cooking, baking, and other fancy presentations. Imagine a summery ceviche on cod with avocado, strawberries, chili, lime, and red onion. Topped with a beautiful and flavorful flower from Milkmaid, incredibly delicious and beautiful at the same time.
This variety is a real favorite of ours at Florea and we highly recommend it!

Zinnia - Zinderella Lilac

This magical zinnia variety is truly in a league of its own. Zinderella Lilac has beautiful flowers in tasteful pinkish tones that also lean towards a lavender color with a dark center. When we saw this delightful zinnia variety, we were immediately blown away and simply had to add it to our assortment. Zinderella Lilac is an incredibly easy-to-grow and grateful summer flower. It gets sturdy and robust stems that are perfect for cutting. Thanks to its long-lasting nature, it stays in a vase for a long time and is a delightful addition to bouquets. This variety is amazing in the garden bed and is also very popular with all our pollinators.
If you like to make your own summer bouquets, we warmly recommend this variety. Every time you cut off a flower from Zinderella Lilac, it shoots out new shoots that result in even more flowers, amazing right? So, in other words, the variety is a very loyal bouquet flower and the flowers bloom spectacularly until the frost takes them.

Karin Larsson's Kitchen Garden

We are proud to present our collaboration with Carl Larsson House where we have developed two boxes with seeds inspired by Carl and Karin Larsson. Carl Larsson House in Sundborn is an icon of Swedish interior design and family life. For over a hundred years, the artist Carl Larsson has inspired garden enthusiasts with his images of the idyllic Swedish garden.
This box reflects what the vegetable and kitchen garden could have looked like at Karin and Carl&#8217;s home. Many things that were grown over 100 years ago we still love today! We also asked ourselves &#8211; what was their inspiration? Perhaps it was exotic and new varieties they brought with them from France.
When we visited Carl Larsson House for the first time, we were struck by the story that Carl loved rhubarb. He loved rhubarb so much that there would always be a rhubarb pie on his birthday. So of course they have a big place in the kitchen garden and a given place in the box.
Karin&#8217;s favourite has to be tomatoes &#8211; a passion she shared with us at Florea! So we&#8217;ve included our favourite tomato, which we hope she would have liked to grow in her time too.

Karin Larsson's Flowerbed

We are proud to present our collaboration with Carl Larsson House where we have developed two boxes with seeds inspired by Carl and Karin Larsson. We chose to create a flower bed after seeing Karin&#8217;s beautiful flower beds in Carl&#8217;s many artworks. We also believe that the Larsson family grew a lot of flowers to create a beautiful and inspiring environment. Nasturtium was grown extensively and was always found outside the entrance to the house. We have chosen to include an easy-to-grow variety that blooms in the same colours as it did at the family home.
One painting that caught our eye was ‘Brita. A cat and a sandwich’ where one of the daughters is standing in front of a house wall and in the background you can see stately and tall sunflowers. This made us think of Swedish summer and the great family life we all love to share in the garden. So it was a no-brainer to include a tall sunflower in this box, perfect for growing with the kids.

Cornflower mix ECO

Cornflower is today one of the most common summer flowers and grows both wild and cultivated in many places around the world. The most common is the classic blue variety, but at Florea we love all the colors of cornflowers, which is why we have collected our favorites into a beautiful cornflower mix. A colorful blend of all the most beautiful colors such as white, pink, blue, purple, and lilac.
This easy-to-grow mix thrives and grows in most soils, making it easy to succeed with. It is fantastic in borders but also a grateful cut flower that lasts a long time in a vase. It is also great for drying and using as an everlasting flower throughout the year, as it looks equally beautiful whether fresh or dried.

Wild Carrot - Dara

Beautiful Wild Carrot, one of the finest fillers we have in bouquets according to us at Florea. This variety has beautiful finely cut foliage and magnificent umbels that seem to dance in the air. Wild carrot flowers come in romantic colors of white, pink, and purple. It is also known as ornamental carrot and is equally gorgeous fresh as well as dried, which is why it is widely used in bouquets.
It is loved by all our pollinators and works magically in flower beds, plantings, and containers mixed with other summer flowers. A real favorite at Florea and a recurring feature in our gardens year after year.

Foxglove - Apricot Delight

A magnificent and stylish summer flower with great height. An easy-to-grow flower variety that produces beautiful apricot-colored spikes that are perfect for using in bouquets. The stems are sturdy and last a long time in a vase. A clear favorite among pollinators, especially bees and bumblebees who like to crawl into the small flower bells.
Apricot Delight is a biennial variety that usually blooms the year after sowing. In common parlance, it is often called perennial because it likes to spread itself. It is strikingly beautiful in borders and is grateful to grow as it can tolerate both shade and some drought.
(This variety should not be eaten as it may be toxic.)

Carrot - Rainbow Mix F1

A colorful carrot mix and a taste sensation beyond the ordinary. The fancy carrots come in orange, yellow, white, and purple colors, each with a unique taste that together creates a magical flavor sensation, but also very delicious on their own. Imagine a plate of oven-roasted carrots with this mix on a late summer evening in July? Or why not grill them and surprise your guests with a real summer fireworks display of colors and flavors.

Nasturtium - Double Salmon Gleam

A lovely nasturtium with enchanting flowers in a salmon pink shade. Beautiful to grow in a hanging basket, balcony box, or against a trellis. A wonderful summer flower with strong growth and lots of charm. The flowers are also edible and are excellent in salads or as garnishes on dishes for an extra summery feel. Beetroot - Detroit 2 ECO

A highly cultivable beet with beautiful, large, round, and smooth-skinned roots. The skin is dark red just like the delicious flesh. Equally pleasant boiled as well as pickled, and the young leaves can be used in the same way as chard since they are very tasty. This variety is suitable for so much, such as salads, juices, soups, and much more when it comes to food. We at Florea also want to share a cooking tip on this particular variety that we really enjoy. It is salt-baked beets with thyme and lemon butter. Simply magical!
In addition to being a very popular side dish to many dishes, it is also an incredibly healthy vegetable with many healthy benefits and properties. Beets contain, among other things, a lot of folic acid and alkaloids which together help to lower the body&#8217;s homocysteine levels which reduces the risk of heart disease. Beets are also rich in nitrate, which in the body is converted to nitrogen oxide. Many studies show that the molecule dilates and relaxes blood vessels which in turn contributes to a more oxygen-rich blood and lowers blood pressure. So, if you want improved metabolism, performance, and muscle function, Detroit 2 is the vegetable you are looking for.
