The most common is the classic blue variety, but at Florea we love all the colors of cornflowers, which is why we have collected our favorites into a beautiful cornflower mix. Cornflower - Blue Ball ECO

A classic and beautiful cornflower with dense and double flowers in blue. The variety has a low and compact growth habit that is perfect for border beds, planters and pots. It is also very popular with all our pollinators and great to plant alongside other flower varieties. The cornflower looks incredibly pretty in bouquets both as freshly picked and as dried everlasting flowers. It is lovely to have in a vase on the table or to decorate the table setting.
The flowers of the cornflower are edible and perfect as a garnish on dishes, baked goods, and summer cakes. Our tip is to spice up a Greek salad or a tuna bowl with avocado and pickled red onions with these cute flowers. The good taste and blue color contrast make the plate artistically beautiful and exudes a lovely summer vibe.

Poppy - Single Red ECO

A classic summer variety with beautiful scarlet red flowers. The well-known &#8220;old garden flower&#8221; or &#8220;cottage flower&#8221; as it is often called in Swedish, is a very easy to grow and reliable variety. The gorgeous red flowers bloom from June to August and can be found in gardens all over the world.
The red corn poppy is also a well-known symbol for people who have fallen in wars, especially in England where the beautiful summer flower now symbolizes remembrance and hope for the future.
This variety is very nice to plant together with other summer flowers such as blue cornflower, cosmos, and sweet peas. Corn poppy is also a perfect attractor for the kitchen garden or other plantings since it is a summer flower that is incredibly popular among our pollinators.

With the right conditions, it can be stored frost-free for 2-3 months without any problems. Rijnsburger 5 is perfect to eat fresh or fried but is also magical when caramelized. Ammi visnaga is a beautiful and pleasant summer flower that is often used as a filler plant in bouquets and borders. It has been around and used by people since the Stone Age and is still used today as a medicinal plant. The leaves of the variety are green, finely divided, and dill-like. The plant produces beautiful lime-green buds that then open into magnificent white clusters of flowers. Ammi visnaga is an absolutely fantastic cut flower and lasts a long time in a vase. A big plus for this variety is that it also looks great dried and can thus decorate everlasting bouquets throughout the year.
It is easy to grow and very fun to cultivate. Ammi visnaga is also beloved by all of our pollinators and almost a must-have in the garden for those who like to create their own bouquets!

Cucumber - Marketmore ECO

A popular and fast-growing cucumber variety that produces abundant harvests of medium-sized cucumbers with a good and appealing taste. The variety is a predecessor to many of today&#8217;s more refined cucumbers, which makes it highly talked about in common parlance. Marketmore is robust and fast-growing, and produces abundant harvests throughout the season. The cucumber variety is especially popular because it can develop even in slightly colder climates and has high disease resistance.
Marketmore is excellent for salads, as a sandwich topping, or for various types of pickling. Something we at Florea highly recommend for this variety is cheese gratin cucumber. All you need is:
<ul>
<li>600g of Marketmore cucumbers</li>
<li>200g of white cheese (a whole piece)</li>
<li>1 pressed clove of garlic</li>
<li>A little rocket/arugula to top with</li>
</ul>
Cut the cucumbers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds. Then mash the white cheese and mix it with crème fraîche and garlic. Then spread the creamy mixture on the cucumber. Cut the cucumber into 4-5 cm long pieces and place them on a greased sheet or in an ovenproof dish. Bake in the middle of the oven at 200°C for about 20 minutes. Perfect to eat as is or serve with fried meat, fish, or vegetables of various kinds.

A traditional pumpkin variety with roots from southern France. Large, beautiful wheel-shaped pumpkins that can weigh up to 10 kg. A well-known variety that is very popular thanks to its good and appetizing taste. The variety can be eaten freshly harvested or stored but can also be used for decorative purposes. The variety is excellent for soups, jams, sauces, or other cooking.
We have two really delicious cooking tips with this variety that we highly recommend. The first is an autumnal pumpkin gratin with feta cheese, spinach, and pine nuts. The second is a spicy pumpkin pie for dessert with a little lightly whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Yum!
