Varieties to grow in August
Late summer is here, and August is an excellent time to sow for a harvest well into the fall. Now you can plant fast-growing vegetables like spinach, radishes, and lettuce, as well as herbs like dill and coriander. Additionally, it's a great time to prepare for fall sowing of flower bulbs and biennials like forget-me-nots and hollyhocks. By planting now, you create a lush garden even during the cooler months.
