The former is known for its double beautiful flowers, while the latter for its long stems which are particularly well suited for cutting!

In Sweden, snapdragon seeds are usually classified as an annual plant, but it is actually a perennial plant in warmer climates around the Mediterranean. In the southern parts of Sweden, the stock can actually be a perennial plant.
Snapdragon is a rewarding flower to grow as it can be harvested multiple times during a season, providing new flowers constantly. If you want to harvest it and use it as a cut flower, try to cut or snip as far down the stem as possible. Don't wait too long to cut your snapdragon, do it preferably when the flower has fully bloomed.
Snapdragon is best pre-grown indoors in February-March and then planted outside when the risk of frost has passed. For best results, snapdragon thrives in nutrient-rich soil in a sunny location, giving you many beautiful flowers throughout the season.
Snapdragon is divided into several families, where the most popular are Potomac and Madame Butterfly. Potomac is known for creating long stems that make them particularly suitable for cut flowers. Madame Butterfly is known for its unique double flowers that really stand out.
