Peony - King's Day

Few flowers surpass the magical King&#8217;s Day, which seems to charm every viewer fortunate enough to behold this magnificent peony variety. That it is already strikingly beautiful in its bud stage, clothed in peach-colored attire, is incredible in itself. The surprise is that it only becomes more and more beautiful as it opens. Its color lightens and shimmers in the sun in a way that only King&#8217;s Day can achieve—a spectacle for both the eye and the flower-loving heart. A fantastic variety that works wonders in flower beds and gives that &#8216;wow&#8217; feeling that&#8217;s hard to put into words.
King&#8217;s Day lasts unusually long in a vase, making it the ultimate cut peony. This is Florea&#8217;s gardener Johanna Damm&#8217;s absolute favorite peony and is a must-have in her garden. At her home, we see it growing in multiple places in the garden, both on its own and interwoven with other varieties in a sorbet-like color palette. We are especially taken aback by its grandeur when we see it in a large vase on the dining table and realize that the variety truly lives up to its name!

Peony - Colonel Owen Cousins

An amazing variety that has become incredibly popular thanks to its huge, spherical flowers that just get more and more beautiful as they open up. The flowers have a mother-of-pearl color with faint shades of light peach to soft powder pink.
This is Florea founder Erik Hoekstra&#8217;s big favorite. At his home, we see Colonel Owen Cousins grow magnificently on the patio where it becomes the centerpiece, but also in the more secluded parts of the garden. Since Erik has problems with deer, this has truly become one of his favorites as it is left undisturbed and shines with all its floral splendor until the foliage transitions into a beautiful autumnal hue.

Peony - Coral Charm

Coral Charm is an absolutely fantastic peony that is immensely popular as it produces lots of semi-double flowers that begin their bloom in an apricot-pink color that turns whiter the longer it blooms. It&#8217;s a reliable variety that blooms abundantly in both sunny and partially shaded locations. It grows upright but may need some support; otherwise, it is very low-maintenance. Coral Charm is at its most striking when the bush has flowers at various stages, some softly pink and others white.

Peony - Bowl of Beauty

Bowl of Beauty is a beautiful, pink peony in Japanese form. The outer petals are a pale fuchsia pink colour, while the slender inner stamens are a vanilla yellow and fade beautifully over time. The variety is known for its strong stems, but needs support because the plant often grows so tall. Bowl of Beauty is known to produce abundant flowers and has many side shoots, which extends the flowering time. Another plus for this particular variety is the pleasant scent. A bunch of these indoors will make a whole room smell lovely. A real peony prima donna and favourite!

Amaryllis - Rilona

Rilona is a very unique and sought-after amaryllis variety with large apricot-coloured flowers. The variety has very long stems, which is one of the many reasons why Rilona is such a popular cut flower. It lasts an unusually long time in a vase and usually blooms a little longer than many other varieties, which we at Florea fell for.
This amaryllis variety is Anna Kubel&#8217;s great favourite and during November-January we see it in various flower arrangements at her home. Co-planted with other bulbs or in a larger vase. A fabulous amaryllis that with its apricot-coloured flowers really has that little extra.
The bulb flowers after 8-12 weeks. You can also influence the speed of the bulb&#8217;s growth by either keeping it in a cool place or with more heat. The warmer it is, the faster the amaryllis will grow.

Amaryllis - Mont Blanc

A classic amaryllis variety in a beautiful white colour. The fabulous flowers are simple and the leaves are silky. When the sun shines on the flowers, the leaves shimmer in a magical and unique way. Mount Blanc has long, sturdy stems and is often used in bouquets.

Amaryllis - Benfica

An elegant amaryllis variety with single flowers of a beautiful velvety red colour. Benfica usually blooms with two to five flowers per flower stalk and each amaryllis bulb has several flower stalks. The variety also has long, green leaves that emerge from the bulb after it has flowered.
Beautiful to plant together in groups or to put by itself in a pot. Fantastic to use for cutting and a real favourite at Christmas time thanks to its beautiful velvety red colour. A big plus for long vase life and sturdy stems!
(Takes about 10-14 weeks to flower, both heat and light have a big impact on bulb growth).

Narcissus - Stainless

A beautiful narcissus novelty in a beautiful and shimmering pearly white colour. Beautiful long stems that stand for a long time in flower beds and in pots. A newfound favourite of our Anna Kubel who grew this wonderful variety for the first time this year in her inspiring garden. There it takes pride of place magically in spring both directly outdoors but also around in beautiful clay pots.
When the sun shines on Stainless&#8217; beautiful petals, they shimmer in a magical and unique way. Lovely, isn&#8217;t it?

An exciting new addition to our range in 2023 is the Narcissus Pom Pom Rose. We feel that our love for daffodils grows stronger with each passing day, and this particular variety truly enhances those feelings. It features a double, full bloom where the white petals transition to a soft pink and then incorporate a touch of green. Truly a unique Narcissus that we have fallen in love with. The fact that it has a pleasant fragrance, long sturdy stems, and remains untouched by deer is also a major advantage.

Anemone - Mistral Rosa Chiaro

This anemone is tested and photographed by Florea&#8217;s Gardening Club!
Together with our Gardening Club we are launching this adorable anemone variety from Italy with a graceful and romantic expression. The variety produces large, beautiful flowers in the finest of pink tones. The Mistral series is 
known to bloom for a long time and this beauty is no exception. Rosa Chiaro is great for growing in larger groups where it can be either centered or positioned at the forefront of other plants. Our gardener Johanna usually plants this anemone together with zinnias and Switch Grass Fontaine, a dream combination!
(The variety is perennial, but we recommend winter cover for those who grow the variety in the slightly colder zones for the greatest chance of repeat flowering.)

Tulip - La Belle Epoque

The crown jewel of all tulip varieties on this planet. With its enchanting floral attire, this variety is incredibly sought after and hard to come by today. It&#8217;s not surprising considering it is the most beautiful of all tulip varieties. It received its name from the peaceful French era when fabric and tulle were abundant. A fitting name considering the incredible fullness and form of the flower. There is no doubt that it is a fantastic cut flower, and the amazing thing is that it becomes more and more beautiful as it opens up. It blooms for a long time and holds up well in a vase, which are contributing factors to its popularity.
It is difficult to define visually what magic is, but we at Florea would like to say that La Belle Epoque is as close as it gets!

Blushing White Mix

Our very own favorite mix, produced with an extra focus on color and recurring properties. As both Apricot Pride and Francoise are Darwin tulips, there is a high chance that these will return year after year. The long beautiful stems are incredibly suitable for cutting and give all plantings that little something extra. The soft colors harmonize beautifully with each other and together they create the ultimate tulip bouquet.
Since we at Florea love these two varieties of tulips, we are extra happy to be able to present this wonderful mix!

Narcissus - Kapiti Peach

Say hello to what is perhaps the sweetest and most beautiful narcissus in existence, Kapiti Peach. With its ivory-white petals and soft peach-coloured centre, it blooms fabulously from April to June and grows magnificently in length. Fantastic to have in a bed, pot or just planted straight down in the open. A recurring favourite in the garden that is also left alone as it does not like to be eaten by either hares or hoofed animals. Fantastic to use for cutting when it has grown a little lengthwise either on its own or mixed with, for example, tulips and ranunculus.
A big plus for Kapiti Peach, apart from its beautiful floral display, is its wonderful scent. Bringing a bouquet of this variety indoors beats all scented candles in the world. Definitely a new narcissus favourite with that little extra!

Narcissus - Romantic Paradise

Let us introduce our latest addition to the Narcissus family, Romantic Paradise. With its light yellow petals and orange-colored center, this variety quickly became a favorite among us at Florea. The beautiful double flowers are excellent for cutting and are incredibly decorative in vases or other types of floral arrangements. It earns 10 points for the wonderful scent that Romantic Paradise also possesses, making the variety a pure delight to have in an indoor vase. This narcissus also faithfully returns year after year in the garden and becomes even more beautiful.
Did you know that deer and other wildlife don&#8217;t like narcissus? That means you can keep all your wonderful narcissus for yourself and you don&#8217;t have to worry about protecting them in any way.

Tulip - Francoise

Few single-flowered tulip varieties surpass our beloved favorite, Francoise. With its incredibly long and sturdy stems, we spotted it for the first time from quite a distance. The white beautiful flowers hovered slightly higher than all the others, capturing our curious gazes and immediately drawing us in. In all its simplicity, Francoise can be one of the most beautiful things we have actually seen.
It is a truly wonderful variety to have as a background plant or interwoven with other slightly taller varieties such as allium or the tulip variety Apricot Pride. It is also great for cutting due to its unusually long stems.

Allium - Rosy Dream

Lovely light pink-lilac flower globes that create a floating impression on sturdy and stable stems. A delightful splash of color in the flower bed or other plantings. Fantastic to mix with perennials for a more sustainable and long-term planting. An amazing attractant for all our pollinators who eagerly gather around this wonderful allium variety. Deer and hares dislike allium, which means you can have your fantastic spring bulb all to yourself!

Tulip - Verona

Beloved Verona, a tulip variety that we at Florea could never be without. Among all the double tulip varieties, she is always the first to bloom, and how grateful we are for that. With her completely unique lemon-yellow color and full form, it&#8217;s hard to find words to describe her magical existence. An amazing tulip to bring indoors as a cut flower, not only for its appearance but also for its incredibly delightful scent. Verona actually smells like a wonderful combination of lemon curd and lemon sorbet, how incredible is that?
A true favorite variety for us at Florea, which holds a special place in our hearts and is a recurring guest in our gardens every year, thanks to its amazing attributes of color, form, and fragrance!

Tulip - Salmon Impression

Salmon Impression is a Darwin tulip in a soft pink/apricot color. This tulip reaches a height of approximately 60 cm, which makes it particularly majestic in the flower bed. It has sturdy stems and a large egg-shaped flower that lasts a long time. Despite its sturdy stem, it is advisable not to place it in an excessively exposed windy location due to its height. It is an absolutely fantastic variety that charmed us instantly as it truly stands out from the crowd.

Tulip - Copper Image

Copper Image is a double-flowered tulip that shifts in colors of orange, copper, apricot, and pink during its blooming period. It is stunning in all colors, but our favorite stage is definitely when it transitions into copper. It reaches a height of approximately 35cm and typically blooms in May. It is also very beautiful as a cut flower.

Narcissus - Bridal Crown

Bridal Crown is one of our absolute favorites when it comes to daffodils. Beautiful double flowers that also have a delightful fragrance. This variety produces white petals with creamy yellow blooms. Its wonderful scent makes it perfect for use as a cut flower, such as on a dinner table. Bridal Crown reaches a height of approximately 40 cm and has actually won the prestigious Award of Garden Merit. This award is given by the RHS to particularly garden-friendly varieties.

Hyacinth - Carnegie

Something I would like to recommend to everyone is to visit Holland during early spring and be met by an absolutely fantastic scent, namely the scent of hyacinths. With that said, why not try to recreate this at home? The hyacinth is in many ways underrated as it is not only beautiful, but also deer-resistant and wonderfully fragrant. We have two favorites in the range for 2023, namely this white variety &#8216;Carnegie&#8217; and an apricot-colored Gipsy Queen.

Peony - Fringed Ivory

Fringed Ivory is a late-blooming variety with a soft and easygoing peony scent. The semi-double flower balls take on a beautiful ivory-white color and are just as beautiful during the day as they are in the evening. The variety has elegant dark green foliage and very strong stems, which makes them ideal for cutting and bringing indoors.
A big plus for this particular variety is that it forms many side tubers, which extends the flowering period as it produces a multitude of new beautiful flowers. It&#8217;s simply impossible not to love Fringed Ivory because it provides so many flowers throughout the season.

Perfect Match Mix

Mixing alliums and tulips is a proven recipe for a successful flower bed. The different onion flowers harmonize nicely together and give a floating and graceful expression with a stylish feel. We have chosen the tulip Apricot Pride and the allium Silver Spring to get a softer expression with that little extra. In addition to the fact that this is a real discount favorite, this mix is ​​also excellent for cuts.
