Guide - sow in a pot

Growing in pots is both easy and fun, and you can actually grow most things in pots. It’s perfect if you want to grow flowers and vegetables on the balcony or in the kitchen window.

Fill up the pot with planting soil.

Then water the soil thoroughly.

Spread the seeds from your seed bag in the pot.

Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil.

Then water some more!

Place the pot in a sunny window and make sure to keep the soil slightly moist at all times.

Keep in mind

The size of the pot can vary and some seeds want more space than others.

Herbs generally require smaller pots and are perfect for windowsills. Cucumbers and potted tomatoes can also be grown indoors in pots or on the balcony.

You can also grow summer flowers such as zinnias, cosmos and sweet peas in pots. Choose a fairly large pot, then it thrives best, although these sorts can also manage in smaller areas. 2-3 plants in a large pot are usually enough to get a good result.
