This variety is a Cos lettuce and is a nice cultural heritage from 1870. In addition to being one of the oldest lettuce varieties, it is also considered by many to be the tastiest. The variety forms small, pleasant, high-built heads. The green leaves are self-closing, and with a crispy, yellow interior, the variety has a very fresh and crispy taste. The variety is fast-growing and has slightly longer shelf life than other varieties.
