It’s hard not to fall in love with this lovely variety of snapdragon at first sight. The long flower spikes come in beautiful yellow, orange, and apricot tones reminiscent of a sunset. The variety has double flowers that with their fluffy appearance resemble azaleas. Costa-Apricota is known for its long vase life and for producing abundant flowers throughout the season. When you pick a flower, the plant quickly produces new shoots, allowing you to create many bouquets all summer long.
In addition to being a popular cut flower, this variety is also incredibly decorative in borders and other types of plantings. It can be planted alone or used as a background plant, intertwined with other summer flowers.
This variety is also edible and can be used as a spice and garnish. Imagine an appetizer with asparagus and a cream made with some Swedish “Västerbotten cheese”. Just before serving, sprinkle a thin layer of Costa-Apricota on top to give the dish that little extra touch. It’s delicious to eat but also beautiful to look at!
