Let us introduce ‘Strawflower – Silvery White’, a very welcome addition to the eternelle family at Florea. The variety gets lots of large paper-like flowers in different shapes and sizes depending on how long they sit on the plant. A magical bouquet component but which is just as beautiful solo in a catch thanks to the white shimmering color. The wonderful thing about Strawflowers is that they can also be dried and Silvery White is no exception, it is harvested and hung upside down for best drying results.
Our cultivation expert Johanna Damm always grows this at home in at least one pallet collar preferably two because she uses them both in fresh bouquets and also dries lots to use for wreaths and eternity bouquets later in the year. She also usually cuts off the flowers when they have dried to use for slightly fancier dinner table settings. She then reuses these several times throughout the year by putting all the flowers in a jar or box. Sustainable, beautiful and much appreciated.
