An amazing Swiss chard variety where the stems resemble like a colorful firework in pink, orange, red, white, and yellow. Enchantingly beautiful in the flowerbed, pots, and in the kitchen garden, thanks to its fantastic colors and majestic leaves. The green leaves can be used fresh in salads or cooked in the same way as spinach. Even the decorative stems are edible and can be used in the same way as asparagus. The beauty of Bright Lights is that if you have a larger harvest, you can always freeze them, either chopped or lightly blanched, to use throughout the year.
This is Anna Kubel’s favorite vegetable and a variety she can’t do without. Every year, she cultivates a whole row of Bright Lights in her garden that she uses in her cooking. Her favorite is making a pie with the colorful stems, both delicious and visually appealing.
(The variety has also won the RHS Award for Garden Merit and is specially developed to withstand slightly colder Nordic climates.)
