A popular and beloved amaryllis variety with large, silky white flowers. Marilyn is a double-flowering variety, which imparts an elegant and magnificent expression. It’s known for producing numerous stems and blooming for an extended period. Beautiful on its own in a pot or alongside other bulbs in a floral arrangement.

Thanks to Marilyn’s long stems, this variety is also outstanding for cut flowers. At Florea, we cut the stems and hang the amaryllis upside down with a silk ribbon. Water lightly inside the hollow stem and hang it in the kitchen, on a curtain rod, or in any other desired location. By harvesting the stems, the bulb receives more nutrients to produce new amaryllis stalks. Isn’t that wonderful?

The bulb blooms after 8-12 weeks. You can also influence the speed of the bulb’s growth by either keeping the bulb cool or with more heat. The warmer it is, the faster the amaryllis grows.
